Troy Anniskett

Days of the Week: Monday thru Friday

Troy has been making music since he was 9 years old. He’s been playing the piano for 17 years and the guitar for 12 years. Troy also composes music, plays in his band called, “Shybones” and has recorded a cd with his band. Troy has been at Anchorage Music & Dance Center since 2006. He teaches private music lessons and a Rock Band Performance & Recording class.

Background:
 - Plays and teaches Rock, Folk & Bluegrass style music
 - 3 years of classical piano experience
 - Participated in the Maria Downey Piano Competition
 - Received the Exxon Mobile Master Artist Series Award

Francisco Badillo

Instruments: Beginning-Advanced Drums & Guitar

Francisco graduated from Service High, here in Anchorage, and he is currently attending the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is pursuing a degree in both Music Performance & Music Education. Francisco keeps busy playing the Mexican vihuela in a local Mariachi band and also teaches Mariachi camps. Francisco is fluent in English & Spanish and marches in the Anchorage 4th of July Parade with the Red, White and Blue Marching Band.

Anna Barbee

Anna has been playing the piano for over 20 years. She has been teaching both piano and French horn privately for 9 years. She is originally from Phoenix, Arizona. Anna completed her Bachelor’s in Music Performance, French Horn from University of the Pacific and a Masters in Music Performance, French horn from Arizona State University.

Carly Linna Campbell

Carly’s love of music began at an early age when she began performing with Music Machine each summer. She enjoys teaching music to preschoolers and has taught with the Mini Music Machine program for 3-5yr olds, and was a Kindergarten Assistant at Bowman Elementary. Carly continues her education at UAA, and follows her own passion for singing by participating in vocal competitions & taking private voice lessons.

Amber Gauthier

Amber completed her Master's Degree in Opera at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC in 2012. She started her music education at Indian River State University in Ft. Pierce, FL with a focus in Musical Theater and there found her love for Opera. She finished her Bachelor's of Music at the University of Alaska Anchorage where she had leading roles in both musical theater and opera UAA productions. At UBC, she has been personally selected by Director of Voice & Opera Division to sing with the Opera Ensemble at Opera Teas and the Opera Balls on several separate occasions and has had the chance to perform lead roles, understudy, and perform in the choruses. Future goals and aspirations include continuing to train and grow and a performer, but Amber has also taken and interest in directing and teaching. She is also involved in spreading the awareness of Opera and Art Song in smaller and rural communities by way of lecture recitals that include an explanation of how to enjoy listening to “classical music”.

Christine Nees

Instruments: Beginning to Advanced Violin Beginning Cello, Viola & Piano

Christine has lived in Anchorage most of her life and is a retired Anchorage School District Orchestra Teacher. After 23 years of teaching for the district, she still has a love of music and the desire to share it with students, especially beginners. Christine has taught elementary, middle & high school orchestra at many local schools including: Hanshew Middle School; Bartlett & Service High Schools. Christine continues to teach part time for the district. She has also taught at Kings Lake Fine Arts Camp and the Birchwood String Camp. Her first love is the violin, but she also enjoys teaching beginning viola, cello & string bass.

Michael has been playing the guitar for 12 years, and he is especially fond of classical & jazz guitar. He has taught private lessons for the past 9 years, 4 years with Anchorage Music & Dance Center. He is attending UAA to obtain a degree in Guitar Performance. Michael has a passion for music and enjoys teaching students how to play with their hearts and minds as one.

Luke Sherman

Luke has played guitar since 1996, and he also plays the upright bass. He studied with Larry Beekman in Kansas City for 3 years. Luke has taught both private lessons and group music classes since 2005.

Kenneth Siebels

Ken is a recent graduate of UAA and also received a Certificate from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. He has taught private guitar lessons since 2011 and has experience teaching group guitar classes. Ken has arranged music for the UAA Guitar Ensemble, performed in an R & B Band, Classic Rock Cover Band, and was Guitarist for the Musicals, “Grease” & “Zombie Prom”. In addition to private music lessons, Ken also teaches Rock Band Performance & Recording classes here. He is currently a guitarist for New Grace Christian Church in Anchorage.

Matthew Smith

Instruments:Beginning to Advanced Guitar Beginning to Intermediate Piano, Bass, Mandolin & Composition

Matthew has a very diverse background in many different aspects of the musical process. As a teacher, composer, arranger, performer, and producer, Matthew has in depth knowledge of music from top to bottom. A music therapy alumni from the Berklee College of Music, Matthew has performed in numerous bands and written music for choir, chamber ensembles, and produced both his own music and that of others from his home studio. Matthew is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education from the University of Alaska. Matthew has a particular passion for jazz, funk, blues, and rock styles of music.

Ian Worthington

Ian is an accomplished musician playing a variety of instruments including: cello, piano, guitar and bass for the past 18 years. He grew up in Anchorage and graduated from Polaris K-12 School. Ian has taught both private lessons and group classes at Anchorage Music & Dance Center since 2009. He has been performing music, both in groups and solo, for the last 14 years. Ian was a member of “Bolt Action Beaver”, a local band he wrote and performs original songs. He is currently a member of the band, Smile Ease.
